The Debutante Program

It is a distinct honor and privilege to be a part of the Eleventh Annual Debutante Cotillion Ball sponsored by the Stone Mountain-Lithonia Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Eleven years ago these ladies embarked on a journey to pluck budding roses and bestow upon them their cache of the tenets of true womanhood. Since then, they have seen fledgling young ladies come under the tutelage of this program, make their debuts, and go on to soar in their various endeavors. 

 

A debutante is a young lady who has been prepared, through loving guidance and some formalized training, to enter into adult society. She crosses the threshold into this formidable stage of life with a solid foundation of the virtues of womanhood, seasoned with an understanding of how to successfully dwell among the myriad cultures and societal norms of the day. 

 

I cannot express to you how honored I am to have been chosen to be among this year's Debutantes. As I prepare to join Society, through this program I have been given the challenge to continuously endeavor to learn and explore something new and work to advance the agenda and initiatives that are important to me and the community. I take this challenge seriously and I thank you for supporting me in my quest
